Packaging Waste Prevention and Management

At Palit, we are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our packaging and supporting the objectives of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). Consumers also play an important role in preventing packaging waste, increasing reuse where possible, and ensuring packaging materials are correctly collected and recycled.

Preventing Packaging Waste

The best way to reduce packaging waste is to prevent it from being created.

You can help by:

  • Purchasing only what you need
  • Reusing packaging where it is safe and practical to do so
  • Avoiding unnecessary damage to packaging that may allow it to be reused or recycled
  • Sorting packaging correctly after use so that valuable materials can be recovered

These actions help conserve natural resources, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and minimize waste sent for disposal.

Reuse of Packaging

Palit does not currently operate a reusable or refillable packaging system for its retail packaging due to the specific protective requirements of electronic components. Where reuse systems or secondary uses are available through retailers or local initiatives, consumers are encouraged to participate.

Separate Collection and Recycling

Once packaging can no longer be reused, it should be disposed of through the appropriate separate collection system available in your local area.

Please:

  • Empty packaging completely before disposal
  • Separate packaging according to the material type, where required by your local collection system
  • Follow local recycling and waste collection instructions

Packaging Chemical & Hazardous Safety

All Palit product packaging adheres strictly to applicable global environmental regulations (including RoHS Directive and REACH Regulations) and PPWR heavy metal concentration limits (< 100 mg/kg). Our packaging materials do not contain hazardous substances.

Should packaging ever come into contact with external contaminants or hazardous materials during use, it should be disposed of according to local hazardous waste collection requirements.

Understanding Packaging Labels and Symbols

Our packaging and product documentation may display labels and symbols that provide information about regulatory compliance, product safety, and the appropriate end-of-life management of packaging.

Symbol Meaning & Purpose
Mobius Loop Mobius Loop: Indicates that the packaging is recyclable or contains recyclable materials. Actual recyclability depends on local collection systems.
Crossed-out Bin Crossed-out Wheeled Bin: Indicates that the electronic product itself must not be disposed of with unsorted household waste (WEEE Directive).
CE Mark CE Mark: Indicates that the product complies with applicable European Union health, safety, and environmental protection legislation.
UKCA Mark UKCA Mark: Indicates that the product complies with applicable regulatory requirements for Great Britain.
RoHS RoHS Compliance: Indicates compliance with restrictions on the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical equipment.
REACH REACH Compliance: Indicates manufacturer compliance with EU REACH regulations regarding chemical safety.
